When a company has bought the AI tools and not much has changed, I’m the outsider they bring in.
I sit with leadership in the morning and implement with the teams in the afternoon. I’m usually the only person in the room who has experience in both.
Current work
I take on a few advisory roles a year, at established companies with large in-house technology organizations that want AI to reshape how they operate. The work starts with the engineering teams: weekly sessions on their own codebase until agents do real, reviewed work under rules the team has written down. Alongside that I advise leadership on structure, staffing and build decisions.

Before
I grew up in Germany and have lived in the United States for fifteen years. I live in San Francisco with my wife and our son, and when I’m not working I’m usually under an old car, fixing something, or near or in the water.
